Welcome! My name is Doug Mugglin, but my friends call me Dug. I’m married with three children and a boat load of pets, all living and growing in Ohio.
For the past few years, I’ve been a prayer journaller. As my journalling practices have developed and evolved, my journal has become vital to me. It’s my link to our Maker. Writing in that book slows my mind down and helps me to hear His “still, soft voice.” My journal is a source of inspiration, healing, and guidance. If I have a question or a concern, all I have to do is write it down; the answers come in many different forms, sometimes so quickly and powerfully that it takes my breath away.
Recently, I’ve felt a leading to start an on-line journal to share with my friends, both present and future, in a community of mutual support and growth. The questions coming out in the journal demand a broader perspective. The further I journey through life, the less I seem to know for certain. The “truths” that I’ve accepted in the past don’t hold up to the test of time. I was too quick to rush to an answer; frequently, I wasn’t even asking the right questions. To quote Mark Twain, “It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you into trouble. It’s what you know for sure that just ain’t so.”
I believe that we each carry a part of the Divine spark within us. We hold the answers to our questions within us, but each of us only carries a part of the complete Truth. Sharing in community, we can achieve far more than we ever could on our own. My prayer is that this on-line journal can be a first step towards building that community.
